Doing our Best to do WHAT’s BEST

Doing the best we can

JOURNAL ENTRY Oct 15:

Anxiety and excitement can very much feel the same. There is so much to be excited about, my third book was finished earlier this year, and I’m in the middle of recording this CD. For an artist, these fruits are beautiful gifts.

My life today, in many ways, is that same it always was —guided by intuition, being guided by the Spirit of the “coincidences” that occur. It sounds strange, I feel strange. I live in two worlds, a novice at best in both. A tiny ship dancing between the oceans of the material and the spirited sky.

Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment. I’m always a little weary and nervous as they approach since my treatment for prostate cancer. What’s next? One step at a time. None of us are alone on our journey, that I know. Yet, so many of us, survivor’s —life survivor, love survivor, cancer survivor’s must do our best to do WHAT’s BEST. And that is to be of service.

Human Condition

So, so many struggle for basic human needs. They include food, shelter, friendship and family, health — just trying to get out of a fight or flight mode. It isn’t easy. And the condition of the United States is serious.

There are very real threats to our healthcare system that the current president is leading to dismantle. Where will that leave us? And what about our rights as LGBTQ, and as women — and what about our continued struggle for race equality? It’s important stuff.

No, I’m not alone, I’m in so many situations, lucky and blessed —but I’m also a part of the previous, the fight for a better human condition.

On, we go.

I’ll leave with another entry from my journal dated June 25, 2017.

“This beauty steps forward to tell you what? How different you are? No —for you stand here as Thoreau stood, and as Ono, and Angelou —whole and illumined and envisioned.”
