Compassion, The New Pill 🌞
People are struggling. The news is making us aware of that. We are more awake than we’ve been in a while, that’s true. But, the conflicting message of taking a pill to make us happy or “better” leaves a bitter taste. ✨
Some of our population living so careless, resting in a hedonic system that in the brutality of pleasure, escape and greed, is exploiting and squashing the American dream. ✨
The American Dream
A symbol which, either born into or seeking, stands around the world as the promise of a safe and better future. ✨
A young man asking for change stands at the end of the exit on the way to my house. He reminds me of myself. His quick pace, his energy, there’s something about him that makes me want to know his story.
He holds a sign that reads “I’m hungry, anything will help.” ✨
My initial response is one that comes from the conditioned society. But! What lies beyond that? ✨
I wonder how my own work can partner with that of my yoga teacher’s and with that of our respective friends and collective connections to change more lives. ✨
Is it possible for more Americans to pool resources and create personal, local, and national change?
America, our people are hurting. How can we engage our empathy from page to hands and instead of watching commercials on TV that offer a pill to make us happy, is a viable option to embrace commercials that ask — how we help our neighbor? ✨
