Letter to a Bohemian

What seems empty now is just the space — received to receive — that which we are willing to become.

Always love and teach it.

Desire and devour it — be compassionate.

Forgive the mis-created reflections, yet exhale gratitude for each microsecond.

Be truer to your art —it lives to love, be loved and be lived.

Intend today to forward letters of instruction to your future self and former child.

Artists create because they have to create, Son.

Wander gently more.

Consciously Losing Control of Your Life

What are we truly capable of?

What would happen if we consciously chose to let go — to stop trying to control people, places, and things? I propose, ownership of our lives.

What if our perspective of business dealings and the modeling of our personal lives shifted from controlling to releasing? Focused on what we have to share with each other instead of taking from each other — imagine what we could accomplish. I bet, pretty big things.

Taught to go out and grab life by the horns, we have learned to be aggressive. Aggression, given the state of affairs in our world according to news headlines, health concerns, and continued exclusivity have served us, in my opinion — not so well.

Would taking charge of our thoughts and emotions offer a higher ROI? I would rather spend my effort and my time finding out that answer by working on opening my heart instead of controlling situations and other unforeseen forces.

For me, taking charge, it’s truest sense — is showing up. Showing up in our collective space with our personal space —both vulnerable and authentic. Vulnerability and authenticity does not imply weakness. It is inclusive of all our strength and dedicated attention on our own well-being, with genuine concern and care for the business at hand —the task — and of each other’s well-being.

It takes courage to show up as ourselves. Stephen Hawking, world renowned theoretical physicist has said that aggression would be the downfall of civilization. I certainly concur — but advocate, that we can change it by encouraging each other’s possibility while cultivating our own self worth.

In my book The Grace of Redefining Love, I suggest that we are each other’s motivation for possibility.

“Aggression insists on oppressive limitation so we can feel safe. None of it is real, none of it is true, and none of it is lasting. Authentic motivation comes from and through each others heart center. One of the most empowering realizations we can make is this. By encouraging each other’s possibility, we encourage our own.”

—excerpt from The Grace of Redefining Love.

Consciously choosing to lose control of our life means stepping into a situation that, could be one of crisis, yes, but more often than not, means stepping into our authentic selves. It means consistently returning, over and over again, to our heart center. Returning to a state of calm —now scientifically proven to lower blood pressure and expand our thinking —therefore, allowing us to be more effective.

Developing a personal practice for showing up can give us a fluid form to live by — to recode our lives so-to-speak. Mine calms me. It grounds me in the morning with an integrity of creating good.

My personal practice begins in the first 30 minutes upon waking. This is what really keeps me living on point for the day.

My practice consists of getting up and stretching. Then I may read a page or two of poetry or a verse from A Course in Miracles, or something else that promotes peace and well-being. Ready to enter the world I recite this mantra: Let me send love outward for miles — let me leave love wherever I place my feet.

That’s how I like to roll.

We have so much to gain by learning to dance through life instead of controlling it. Feeling safe enough to include others in our creations engages empathy and compassion. Asking what it is they wish to build can only expedite our best possible probabilities. There really is enough to go around.

REDEFINING OUR FUTURE

future of humanity

Love After the Election

Love After the Election

It is not a time for defeat. This is our time for quiet determination.

I voted for Hillary, but whether we voted for Trump or Clinton, we have a country divided — a world divided that clearly wants change.

What does the America we would like to see look like? Does it look like our family? Does it look like the dream we hold in our hearts?

There is a still in the air today. We can feel it. A space that has been created for you and I, a space in which we can now create. What will we create?

With our simplest acts, you and I will redefine our future. For it is through us, that we have infinite capacity to build great things.

There are leaders of countries, yes. But there are also leaders of companies and families and leaders of sciences and medicine and quantum physics, all of us linked by a common thread — connecting us, that thread is love.

It will be the decisions we make each day that determines our survival — but it will also determine our quality of life. Quality, the value we place on our living condition.  We manifest our happiness.

So, in our piercing awareness that we all want change, I ask this. Will we put down our guns and grievances? Are we willing to bring home our inner soldier — the one we sent to wage war against ourselves? Will we answer that little boy or girl inside our heart who looks back at us in the mirror each morning and asks “do you see me”?

Say yes.

It is my hope that our greatest change agent for countries and continents, and families and friends is love.

Love, a life lesson, a required course for the evolution of humanity which states boldly in its introduction:

“Let us choose Love over fear. Kindness over hatred. Compassion over aggression. Let us choose inclusively — with each other heart in mind. Let us use our own hearts to do what is good and what is right, not just for us but for all humanity — for all life.”

Let our careful determination be in alignment with our life lessons, proudly and gloriously, guiding us upward to do good work. It is time —to do good work. To redefine our future, and act with integrity in the space we’ve asked for — is both our duty and honor.

Let us this day, and in forward motion, manifest and cultivate our individual, communal and political truest love.

ADVOCATE GOOD

good

WE MUST DEDICATE OURSELVES TO GOOD

Being inspired or being inspiring always asks us to advocate good. Inspiration is an act that lifts. Today, I saw Oprah on the T.D. Jakes Show and what brought tears to my eyes is her conviction of doing good. Her commitment to humanity and her humbleness of remembering her journey.

The second thing that brought tears today was an action of a CEO, upon learning his employee lived in a shelter with her children – told her he wanted her and her children to live in a home and wrote her a check for $250,000. This was from the show Undercover Boss.

These acts of compassion and lifting inspire me, as it is meant to inspire us all, that we, you and I must…WE MUST continue doing good. When we know better we must do better, and as Maya Angelou said, when we learn – teach.

Namaste my friend. Do good things.

REALIGNING

“Changing our perception will begin the healing process – from fear to love, despair to hope, chance to faith.”

INFINITE POSSIBILITY

In finally being able to see our own perception is not the only one, we release our suffering. The greatest gift in letting go is now we have room for Divine Love to enter. We realign with the Infinite.
