Taking Charge of Health

Diet-ExerciseIn the past two years I have refined many of my eating habits even though I considered what I previously ate as “healthy”. And it was healthy, for the most part, though when I really paid attention to these choices is when I began noticing how much better I felt, both my cholesterol levels and blood pressure went back to a normal range, and I lost 30 lbs of fat!

Here’s how.

  1. Eliminate most or all processed foods. This includes white flour and pasta.
  2. Cut out plain table salt. Read labels carefully for sodium content. I use sea salt or pink salt that contains all its natural nutrients.
  3. Eliminate added sugar. This is the biggest factor – it is in EVERYTHING! So again, read labels carefully.

What these changes did for me personally was increase my strength and endurance, improve digestion, correct and improve skin problems, and decreased inflammation which is one of the major culprits to chronic disease including heart, diabetes, and cancer.

The link below is to an article that provides a clear and in-depth view of what I am talking about here.  Please take a moment to read it, get informed, and pass it along to your neighbors and friends. Our health is in our hands – let’s take charge! Namaste. 🙂
